"Now I Wish I Had Watched...the DAMN Bet Awards"

So I wasn't among the 7 plus million views who watched the BET awards; and now I have mixed emotions about it.  I don't usually watch any awards shows due to my inability to stay neutral.  For some odd reason I become overly involved emotionally. Because 'yelling' at the TV can NOT be a good thing. I take it so personal when my favorite artist isn't nominated or if they don't win, so I just don't set my self up like that anymore.  But this time I am feeling 'left-out' because I didn't torture myself by suffering through the bad parts of the show to see the few good ones.  For instance; one of my favorite singers (Ledisi~see previous post) sang a tribute song to one of my ALL Time favorite singers Teena Marie. OMG!! I would have sat through (almost) anything to have seen that live!!    Even though I just saw it online; it just wasn't the SAME as if I had seen it...when the rest of the west coast was seeing it..

"Happy Fathers' day,, to the ones they don't make cards for"

Well, it's that time for another weird Holiday.  It's Fathers Day! Yay!!??  I wish I was one of those daughters who has a 'warm and fuzzy' feeling when it comes to my father, but I'm not.   Whatever the emotion is, it not going to be found at your local Hallmark. It seems to be easier for us Mothers.  When Mothers day hits, cards fly off the shelf, because even the most undeserving of mother gets her props on Mother's day~ Well, she carried you 9+ mos, for goodness sake..
But your dad? Well he just sprinkled a few drops in a 'lucky' spot and you were created.  I mean really, do they make- 'Thanks for getting my mom pregnant' cards?  Bet they don't make; 'I never met you, but I love" you' Happy Fathers Day cards? Just kidding, I know who my dad is, but sometimes it seems like I really don't....KNOW him. You know?  Either way, regardless of the situation, if it wasn't for the no-good, low-dow, trifalin, lying, cheatin,so and so (not my dad of course; just paraphrasing here), NONE of us would be here...But the whole 'Father's day is 'reserved' for good Fathers right?~ Well HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!  to the ones that are 'good' and to the ones that just 'are'.
Well you know; just my random thoughts.

"Every song on every album??"...

I guess it was 4 yrs ago when I first heard of  Ledisi.  'Alright' was featured in Tyler Perry's movie 'Meet the Browns'.  I saw her name in the credits and the next time I was in a record store I picked up her CD 'Lost and Found'.  I have been a fan every since. The amazing thing about that album was finding others songs that were just a good or better than 'It's Alright'.  I even performed a dance to 'Think of You' because it inspired me so much.  Almost every song on that album I could relate to and if I couldn't well hell that didn't matter cuz that gurl can sang!!.  That CD STAYED in the CD player..I wore it out!!

It must have been the next year or so when her next CD came out.  Now I'm a fan, so that means I'm gonna buy your CD just to support your efforts; but baybee, let me tell you.  This CD was better (if that's possible) than the previous one.  I don't know how many times I've bought someones CD and only liked to two or three songs, and had to skip over the rest.  But not 'Turn Me Loose'.  This one also got played from beginning to end.. Now don't get me wrong I have my favorites that I might just pop on real quick.  Like 'Higher Than This' ,'Knockin' and 'Goin Thru Changes'. Depending on my mood; those three are my drop dead favorites.

Now she has gone and done it again...'Pieces of Me' was release today and due to the magic of the web; I've had the opportunity to listen to some songs early... I AM NOT MAD!!  I will be buying this CD.  From the title track to 'Coffee' and all the way to the end; has delivered yet ANOTHER banging album...How does she do it??!!  Other artist better take note.  From the band, to the production, to the song writing; Ledisi is a non-stop hit maker..  Check her out for yourself...She will not disappoint..

Do I just write anything???...

I feel like I NEED to blog, but I don't wanna just blog about just any ole thing.. I want to be inspired, motivated; that way my words can have meaning.  But I've been having writers block, but I decided to write about that... Ummm... I know I will come back later and post a 'real' blog...But I felt that I had to put something out there..  So much pressure we put on ourselves...
Maybe I'll post a blog about Prince (It's his birthday) and how his music has inspired me; or maybe not.  I've been watching this trial; maybe I'll share my input on that...??  So many options, not enough focus.. *wonder if I have ADHD in my old age...
